The fall semester is almost over and to add to it, there's been some unseasonably warm weather here in Western NY. Trust me when I say I'm not mad at either of these things. Why? 1. I somehow have managed the time to blog. 2. I've had to wear my winter coat once.

All introductory anecdotes aside, I do have a swatch and review of the full China Glaze The Great Outdoors collection. Catch the full press release HERE if you missed it.

China Glaze The Great Outdoors collection

If the swatching style seen today looks familiar, that's because it is. See HERE, HERE, and HERE.

Anyway, I'm gonna kick things of with Change Your Altitude & Check Out the Silver Fox
Change Your Altitude is a pebble greige crème that reaches full opacity in two to three coats. As soon as applied it I said, "Yaassssssss crème, yasss!"
Check Out the Silver Fox is a gunmetal gray that reaches full opacity in two coats. I promise you pictures just don't do this lacquer justice. My first thoughts? Oh sh.t, I love it.

S'More Fun & Take a Hike
S'More Fun I have to admit that I was the most excited about this color from the time the press release landed in my inbox to when the samples showed up at my door. Sadly, that excitement waned when it came time to swatch. It takes about three to four coats to become fully opaque, it's thin, and just plain disappointing formula wise. So sad to see a bad formula for such a pretty color. I'd pass on this one if I were you.
Take a Hike makes up formula-wise for S'More Fun. This rich, mossy green crème has a super smooth two coat application. And if I've said it a million times, I'll say it again. I love a good crème nail polish.

Gone Glamping & Pondering
Gone Glamping a green to gold duo chrome that is shown in three coats but you can probably get by on just two. Watch out for brush strokes though. Is it just me or does it remind you somewhat of Chanel Peridot?
Pondering a deep amethyst duo chrome shown in two coats.

My Lodge Or Yours? & Cabin Fever
My Lodge Or Yours? a fully opaque mauve in two coats. I'm not crazy about the color, but I cant be mad at crème a good formula.
Cabin Fever a pink to copper duo chrome shown above and below in two coats.

Free Bear Hugs & Wood You Wanna?
Free Bear Hugs this deep black red crème is fully opaque in two coats. I'm almost certain I have a dead on dupe for this.
Wood You Wanna? a brown-burgundy metallic that has the same formula as Check Out That Silver Fox. Again, not mad at this shade at all, the pictures don't do it full justice.

Sleeping Under the Stars & Let's Dew It
Sleeping Under the Stars ready for this? Full opacity after only one coat. The only downfall is that the shimmer in the bottle barely translate to the nail. =(
Let's Dew It is meant as a glitter topper. that is unless you want to wear three coats of it.

Quick note:
Every lacquer is swatched with a top coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Clearly Quick.

My favorites of the collection were Take a Hike and Sleeping Under the Stars even though the shimmer is barely noticeable, it wins because it's a one coater.
