Fall is here! If it wasn't official before, it is now. Summer may be over but my obvious love for neons isn't going anywhere. Well, today they are because I've got a How I Wore It and a review of select shades from Zoya's Cafe Creams collection for Fall 2022.

Cafe Creams is a 6-piece collection that consists of five richly pigmented crèmes & one glitter topper. 

I have some fun nail art planned for the noticeably absent Biscuit and Ophelia. Which is why you don't see them in today's post.

• Thumb & Index: Kahula under two coats of Bonnie
• Middle: Remington under two coats of Bonnie
• Ring & Pinky: Constance under two coats of Bonnie

Each of the three crèmes have the same smooth formula that reach full opacity in two coats. 

Bonnie is the glitter topper of the bunch and is described as a "sheer and luminous" rose gold glitter.  It's a fun topper for sure and I would love a gold shard glitter topper like this. *nudges Zoya*

Press Sample Hey! What's up? Hello. Today I've got a swatch and review of a collection that was originally featured on my Instagram stories. That's right. Zoya Jubilee has finally made it right here, to the blog.


Zoya Jubilee features a mix of cremes, shimmers, foils, PixieDusts, and one special effects topper. Leopard Spots, the special effects topper,  will be shown on the index and middle finger of the remaining 11 shades.

When I originally read the press release I thought this (meaning Leopard Spots) could be something. As it turns out, Leopard Spots is a black crackle/shatter polish. Something I found out the hard way, you ask? A thicker layer of LS will drag/spread the polish underneath if it is not completely dry.

 Now, let's move on to the other lacquers starting with Astrid.


Astrid is a warm yellow gold that is fully opaque in 2-3 coats.


Leigh


Leigh is a "nude" that is super opaque in one coat. But it does require a second coat to self-level.


Carson



Carson is described by Zoya as a muted pink nude. The best part about this shade? It's a ONE-COATER. Yep. Full opacity in one singular coat.

Taryn


Taryn is the fuchsia shimmer of the bunch. Smooth formula and is fully opaque in two coats.


Maxine 





Maxine is a cool, blue-based red creme. Something about this one kinda reminds me of the creme alternative to China Glaze Cherry Pie. The formula on this one isn't exactly creme and it isn't exactly jelly. It teeters that fine line of a crelly. Either way, it's fully opaque in two coats.




Allison



Allison is a berry-tone creme that achieves full opacity in two coats. Nothing unique about the color, but the formula is really smooth.


Cookie


Cookie is in my top two--and it ain't number two--of this collection. A purple PixieDust with gold flecks? You bet this is the one I love.  



Chiara


Chiara this purple creme is way more red-based than what my camera picked up. To give a better mental picture, I would say that it is a lot closer to Zoya Mira than to the outcome of my photo.

Danica


Danica, oh Danica! My second fav of the collection.The teal creme shade of my dreams. This swoon-worthy shade is opaque in two smooth coats.


Juniper

Juniper is a teal PixieDusts with blue and purple flecks. This PixieDust is closure to the Ultra PixieDusts that came out five years ago.

Last, but not least we've got Kateri

  
Kateri is a chocolate creme that's fully opaque in one coat. I love brown cremes and the fact that this one is a one-coater makes it even better.

I've had this duo on hand--on hand. Get it?--for a few months now. Let's get things started with the Healing Dry Skin Hand & Body Cream.

With the exception of two lacquers, which will be noted, all shades reach full opacity in two, smooth coats. So let's get into it, shall we?


Presley & Mona
Presley Zoya's description of Presley is described as a smoky, mauve taupe cream. Honestly, that's pretty spot on. So I'll leave it at that.
Mona Remember when oxblood was the color? Well, Mona is the blue-based red equivalent.


Gal & Tabitha
Gal Requiring three thin coats, Gal is the only 3-coater in the collection. Remember that other IT color of nail trends past, Chanel Peridot? While this may not be a dupe, it may suffice if you don't want to splurge on the shade by those interlocking Cs.
Tabitha If you're a fan of pearlescent and deep greens than Tabitha is your girl.


Hadley & Elaine
Hadley Oh Hadley, Hadley, Hadley! Ah, a one coat crème! How could I not love this one, right? I'd be willing to say this is the perfect smoky, midnight blue
Elaine Per Zoya, this is umber brown. Um. Umber is reddish-brown.While the red undertones, the blue ones (making this shade appear more purple than anything) are more apparent. So Zoya, we can agree to disagree on this interpretation of umber.


Hera & Yvonne
Hera If you're into more shades of mauve, well, here ya go.
Yvonne Think of Yvonne as Mona's warmer sister.

Mckenna An almond nude with a hint of pearlescent sheen.


Joni & Padma
Joni A dusty plum shade as described by Zoya.
Padma Not entirely sure where or how Zoya thought this was vermillion. But whatevs. *shrugs*


Overall, Zoya definitely got it right as far as formula goes on these. If you're in the market for "work appropriate" nail polish, Sophisticates definitely has you covered.

Summer is here and so are the summer nail polish collections. On today's roster is the Zoya Wanderlust collection.


Let's get into it.

Byrdie & Minnie
Byrdie is a two coat bubble gum pink créme that leans kinda fuchsia.
Winnie is another pink two coat créme, this is described by Zoya as a watermelon pink.

Mandy & Esty
Mandy this collection is a majority of crémes but Mandy is metallic. A magenta metallic to be exact. Shown above in two coats.
Esty here's the definite fuchsia créme of the group. No complaints on the formula on this one. Shown above in two coats. 

Cora & Sawyer
Cora a coral créme I was really excited about when I looked at the bottle. It was thick to apply. Like really thick. Like it definitely needed a few drops of nail polish thinner. But after the thinner was added it only required two coats.
Sawyer a light orange créme that reached full opacity in two coats.

Journey & Sonja
Journey a blue-based red metallic foil shade. The downside to Journey is that it stains. So just be aware. Opaque in two coats.
Sonja I'm really feeling this read. Dare I say this was my favorite of the entire collection. The is probably a first for me and I'm just as shocked about this as you are. Fully opaque in two coats.

Scout & Arbor
Scout a shimmering green moss that has a smooth formula and reaches full opacity in two coats.
Arbor is an olive green créme that's fully opaque in two coats.
Overall Scout & Arbor are nice but these DEFINITELY feel like fall colors to me.

River & Lois
River a cobalt blue shimmer. Seen above in two coats.
Lois how about we pretend I didn't have a moment where I played out one of Stewie's monologues about Lois in my head just taking notes about this shade, ok? Anyway, Lois in fully opaque in two coats.


Formula wise Wanderlust performed really really well. But as far as personal taste goes, I really wasn't into it. Just way too many shades of pink. Way too many.
Oh Zoya, can we (and by we I mean you) make a collection as awesome as Island Fun was?

Hopefully you guys have enjoyed my travel additions to the site because you'll definitely be getting more of it in the near future *wink* but right now it is all swatches all the time. What's on today's menu? Zoya Charming collection.

Tina issa shade of purple. How can I not love it. And issa créme? Come on now. Fully opaque in two smooth coats.
Abby a nice lilac créme. Unfortunately, the formula on this one is less than favorable. It was thick to apply and doesn't level without the use of top coat. Fully opaque in three coats.

February of 2015, a mystery, new polish remover hit Walmart shelves. It was like nothing else stateside. "Why," you ask? Instead of your standard liquid remover, this baby was a gel. Yup, that's right, nail polish remover in a gel state. The nail polish community was SHOOK. That is until the reviews started rolling in, mine included. Generally, the reviews were pretty unfavorable.Those reviews probably explain why in August of 2016 a new & improved version started popping up.

• $3.98 at Wal-Mart
• strong acetone smell
• super sticky feeling after removal, and it is a must to wash your hands with soap and water
• let it sit for 8 minutes to remove the glitter from this mani. And even after that I still had to scrap it off with my fingers.
• it does liquefy dried nail glue in two minutes

And the new and version.

• $7.98 at Wal-Mart
• strong acetone smell
• the super sticky feeling after removal, and yup you'll need to wash your hands with soap and water after removal
• took a whole lot longer than 4 minutes to remove a full glitter mani

Final review? It's the same damn product with a 100% price increase and black packaging. Once again. Don't waste your money. Just stick to the acetone and polish removal methods you're used to. *heavy sigh*

I'm here blowing money on products so you don't have to.
