I've been having a moment with marbles of all kinds. Fluid marbles, marble drags, and smoosh marbles. So today you're getting a fluid marble featuring the Zoya Pink Palette collection. 

So how did I do it? I did a fluid marble using Joanie, Maddy, Shannon, Kay, and Gigi. Once I used all the cremes, I applied a layer of this collection's special topper, Angel.

 

Zoya Pink Palette is definitely a collection for the pink gworls💮.

Because what says summer more than hot pink nails? I thought so. 

Summer is officially upon us, I've got both my Fauci Ouchies, and going outside is looking like real viable option this year. With all the previous facts mentioned, it's only right to have nails that celebrate such an occasion. 

Instead of starting with a base color like I normally would, I started this mani with a stamp using the imagine the upper right corner of Maniology M0003 stamping plate and some miscellaneous white stamping polish I got from Born Pretty years ago. Once I laid down the base design, I went over it with two coats of Zoya Cana.  And lastly, top coat to seal and protect it. 

Now I normally don't like pink, but when I got the idea for today's nail art I just knew I couldn't resist it. So summer-y. So eye-searing. So neon.  How could I not?

If you follow my new Instagram account *cough* @DropOutNails *cough* you'll see I finally tried out my first thermal polish.

If you haven't already noticed, this shade is pretty sheer; even at three coats--which is shown throughout this post. In fact, I almost gave up completely on this lacquer.

The wear time on this polish is pretty impressive. I wore it for six days with no additional tip wear. I know, "additional tip wear." I say that because within an hour the polish shrank back from my tips a little bit.

My usual base/top coat combination is Duri Rejuvacote & Dazzle Dry Quick Dry Top Coat, which was what I used for this mani.

Maybe this polish doesn't play well with my go to base/top combo. Maybe thermals in general don't go with this combo. At this point I haven't done enough testing either way to find out for sure.

Press Sample Much like one of my more recent swatch posts, today's nail art was done months ago. The photos were taken, and edited, yet the post was just written. Shame on me, I know. But I digress.


These nails used the entire Barielle Summer Keys Collection.

I started with Panama Pina Colada as a base color. 
Then sponged Hawaiian Sunset  & Panama Pina Colada on my thumb, Miami Heat & Panama Pina Colada on my index, Paradise in the Tropics & Panama Pina Coloada on my middle finger, Barefoot in Bermuda & Panama Pina Colada on my ring finger, and lastly, I sponged Topless in St Tropez & Panama Pina Colada on my pinky.

As some of you may know, Tuesday was my first day of college in three years so it was only right to rock the FLOTUS, Mrs. Michelle Obama, on my finger tips.


I bought these Cha Cha Covers Michelle Obama water decals back in January and had been waiting for the most appropriate occasion to use them, and my return to college seemed more than befitting.


Cha Cha Covers picked the perfect photo of the First Lady to make this decal. Does it look familiar? It should. It's from the 2012 Democratic National Convention and everybody was speculating what shade graced her fingernails that night.



OPI sent out a press release; and if I remember accurately, Zoya even ran a promo for the shade shade they thought it was. But in the end, it wasn't even nail polish, it was Artistic Nail Design Soak Off Colour Gloss in "Vogue."

The decals were pretty easy to use and fully opaque on top of a clear base coat. If you've used a few different types of water deals, you definitely understand how awesome that really is.


After four days of wear the edges were looking rather ragged so I added a border of LCN Pink Pepper--also the same color on my thumb because these decals were too short to cover it.

So far I'm really happy about going back to school and I've been telling anyone that will listen. Ready for a kinda funny story? Well you don't really have a choice because I'm gonna tell you anyway.

The following is a conversation between me and my sales coach at work:

On Tuesday I used some of my paid vacation time so I could attend class while not getting penalized for coming to work late and my manager says, "I thought you weren't here today." To which I reply, "Today was my first day of school in three years!" "Oh they let you in? That's great!," she says. Then I retort with, "It's community college, they let everyone in." Obviously, this was followed by a hearty chuckle from the both of us.

Press Sample Earlier this week I sat down to water marble with neons. The water marble itself wasn't the issue, however, photographing said neon water marble was. But because I love you guys, I tried--really, really hard.


Before I started this water marble of Plum Sorbet, Tickled Pink, Haute Pink, Flamingo Flair, and Traffic Cone; I laid down two coats of Sugar Cube.

In real life the colors are more saturated and it's make easier to see the difference between the four shades used for this mani. For swatches of the colors individually click here and here.

Press Sample It's Friday! Now if only that meant anything to me other than I still have to be at work tomorrow morning. Anyway I've two nail art looks using Pixi Nail Colours.

The first is a Victoria's Secret-esque striped mani done in  Fuchsia Dew and  Pink Peony


The base color of Fuchsia Dew is much darker and less neon with a hint of gold shimmer, but my camera refused to accept the aforementioned facts. While Pink Peony is a a super opaque raspberry crème that reaches full coverage in one coat. (I wore it for a week with the intent of swatching it for you guys and then I went to bed and didn't take pics of it the next day.)

I almost forgot to mention that the two colors used are actually very shiny, but I added a matte top coat for a different look.


The second look is a border mani using Lime Lustre, Sizzling Sunshine, and Oh SO Orange.


When I first glanced at these colors, my immediate favorite was Lime Lustre, but that all changed once I applied Oh So Orange. Oh So Orange is a crazy bright neon orange that reaches full opacity in two coats without a base white base color. Oh and it dries to a shiny finish on its own. Girrrrrrrrl! Why can't every single neon nail polish be just like this? When I tell you I instantly got re-hyped about this polish just talking about it, I am not even close to kidding.

The summer season is vastly approaching and summer collections are rolling in! Today I've got Zoya's Summer Magical Pixie Collection.


When I first saw the press info for this collection I thought I would like these so much more than the original Magical Pixies (nail art here), and now that I have them, I've proven myself right

As you may know I have a thing for wearing more than one color per mani and this trio makes it so easy to fulfill my multicolored whims

Shown above is three  thin coats each of  Bar (thumb and index), Ginni (middle), and Arlo (ring and pinky), aka my favorite of the bunch.

The formula on these is thin but easily build-able. If I had to rank the Summer Magical Pixies, they would fall second, right after regular Pixie Dusts and just before the first series of Magical Pixies.

We all know how much I love crémes, summer collections, and bright colors so Zoya Tickled is clearly right up my alley!



After  having these beauties on my hands for a pretty decent amount of time I finally decided what I wanted to do with them. An acid wash rainbow!

My thumb, index, and middle fingers Have all six shades from the Tickled collection, but I decided to use two different halves of the same collection on my ring and pinky fingers.

While my ring finger uses Rooney, Wendy, and Rocha, my pinky uses Tilda, Ling, and Kitridge.


Quick side note, I'm back to growing out my stiletto nails again. I really really, really can't wait for them to grow longer!

Happy Hump Day folks! I don't have any nail art prepared fro today, however, I do have a swatch and review of butter LONDON Lolly from their Lolly Brights Summer 2014 Collection (press release here).


bL describes Lolly as a bright pink shimmer in a gel like base.
I consider it to be closer to a pink foil, but it should be noted that the pink polish you see is slightly cooler in real life.


Shown above is two coats with top coat. I'm usually not a fan of pink, but for some reason I'm not completely put off by this lacquer. In fact, I find it quite nice.

Last week I showed you two pieces from the Salon Perfect Love, Lashes & Lacquer Collection, and today I've got some nail art inspired by Loves Me Loves Me Not.

When I first got this polish, I kept thinking, "pale pink glitter, pale pink glitter, pale pink glitter..." Which eventually turned into, "pale pink font, pale pink font, pale pink font, where have I seen pale pink font?"

And then it hit me...
I remembered where I kept seeing pale pink font.
I feel like Love Me Love Me Not is meant to be a topper so it took about four coats to build the opacity you see above.



For the pale pink B and color on my index finger and thumb I mixed New York Color Polyester Pink Creme and Barielle Very Bare. And for the black base color on my middle finger I went with my go to black, Wet n Wild Wild Shine Black Creme.

I've mentioned on more than a few occasions that Zoya makes my favorite texture polishes so of course I was hyped to try the Magical Pixie Collection for myself.

I didn't get home until a quarter after midnight so I went for something easy. So tape mani it for the win!

Aside from using all three Zoya Magical Pixies--Cosmo (silver), Vega (blue), Lux (pink)--I used Zoya Dot (pink cremè) & Zoya Rebel (blue sky shimmer) from the Awaken Collection.
After seeing various swatches, some better than others, showcasing this installment of Pixie Dusts, I'm happy to add them to my team.
