When Nails Imitate Art: Lakwena Maciver

Nothing To Disclose
Last week on twitter I let word out that some labor intensive nail art will finally be delivered on Friday. Well folks, Thursday night turned into 2:35am Friday morning and my mani still wasn't finished. So Friday night I put the final touches on it and debated if it was worth posting; I'm kinda considering it a nail fail because my lettering needs a ton of work.

Anyway, I digress. As we all know I love Instagram so when I kept seeing a wall that said, "Be bad until you're good" all over my news feed, I knew I had to: a) had to find the artist behind it. b) put it on my nail beds.

A few seconds of Google searching lead me straight to Lakwena Maciver, an amazing modern artist from London with an incredible knack for design, and use of bright colors. An added bonus? She occasionally posts flicks of her own nails.

Barielle Pink Flip Flops | China Glaze Papaya Punch | Color Club Mrs. Robinson
Wet n Wild Wild Shine Red | Barielle Head of the Class | Barry M Cobalt
Dare To Wear Flawless White | Dare To Wear Yellow Twist | Wet n Wild Wild Shine Black Cremé

A little side note: I was holding out on changing my nail shape until they grew out more, but the corner on my ring finger snapped, so back to stiletto I went.

And here's one last pic, just cuz'.

Overall I'm kinda "meh" about these, but at least I know I need to improve.
