My Favorite Nail Polish Brands
Friday, February 13, 2015nail a college drop outPurchased by Me|Press Sample In real life, I'm often asked what my favorite brand of nail polish is and my response is always, "I like different brands for different reasons." So today I'm gonna tell you my favorite brands and why it's always such a loaded question.
Let's get to it, shall we?
Drug Store
Sally Hansen X-treme Wear
Hot Tamale | Babe Blue | Tango-rine | Mellow Yellow | Tan Lime | Perfect Pear-ing
Lacey Lilac | Pixel Perfect | Purple Craze | Big Teal | Mint Sorbet | Pacific Blue
- $2 drug store brand
- fun/on-trend colors
- most of them have a great formula
- 1-2 coats neons
- with the exception of Happy Hour, none require a white base color
Icing (pre-summer 2013)
Glamourous | Candy Shop | Rave Royalty | Lime Martini | Birthday Beyotch | Pampered & Primped
- .6fl ox bottles
- always BOGO ½ off.
- decent dupes & vibrant neons over one coat of white
- creative glitters
Summer 2013 Icing did some re-branding, changed bottle sizes, increased prices, and lowered the amount of polish per bottle. That's why I stopped buying them.
Créme
Créme
High Marks | Gotta Have Fate | Surf's Up
Head of the Class | Peach Popsicle | Life of the Party | Green Apple Chew
- I can honestly say I've never been disappointed with any of their crémes
- the original Pixie Dusts are still my fav texture polish
- Zoya is almost always running a great promo
- You can find a ton of Zoya's (Pixie Pust and otherwise) on clearance for $2.99 at Lengths.
- By far, my favorite luxury brand. Sadly, their no longer carried by anyone in the United States--unless you wanna pay an arm and a leg on evilBay.
- But whatever you do, do not buy Load. Worst. Formula. Ever. --All the other Illy's I own are fine though
Now that--after almost four years of blogging--I've finally spilled the
tea on my favorite nail polish brands, let's talk about it in the
comments.
What are your favorites? Any lacquers/brands I should get my hands on?
Tune in. Drop out. Love polish.

Water Marble
Barielle Me Couture Water Marble
Monday, February 09, 2015nail a college drop outPress Sample Last Thursday night, in between Scandal commercials, I sat down to play with another set of nail vinyls. (That ended up being a fail btw.) So this time I started over, added in a water marble accent nails using the entire Barielle Colour Me Couture collection.
The lacquers in this collection varied in opacity (as you can tell from the sheer parts of the water marble), but my favorite shade is the green lacquer on my pinky, Boho Chic.
Water marbles are usually pretty hit or miss with me but I'm okay with the outcome. At least for this round.
The entire collection is $30 and individual shades are $8 each on barielle.com.
How do you fare with water marbles? Any tips? Let's chat in the comments.
Tune in. Drop out. Love polish.

Nothing To Disclose Last semester my schedule was so full of school work that I barely had the time to paint my nails. This led to months of sketches of unfulfilled manicures, so today I finally found the time to do one of them.
Instagram nails!!!!!!
I've said time and time again how much I love IG so why not express it nail art form? Amirite?
OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys | Revlon Posh | Barry M Cobalt | Wet n Wild Wild Shine Red Red
Dare To Wear Yellow Twist | OPI My Vampire Is Buff | Wet n Wild Wild Shine Black Créme
It took me a few hours to do these, but I thoroughly enjoyed the process.
Not sure if my lack of words is because I'm too busy leering at my nails or if it's due to my lack of sleep.
Just like my last mani, the thumb is my favorite. I mean, how can I not love this camera charm?
And just for funsies, here's another thumb shot.
Yo dawg, I heard you like Instagram. So now you can Instagram on Instagram while you Instagram!
(Yes, I own a phablet. Yes, I know it's huge.)
P.S. my IG handle is @DropOutNails.
What's your favorite social media platform?
Tune in. Drop out. Love polish.
