Product Porn Year In Review

Top 10 of 2013: Product Porn

Saturday, December 28, 2013nail a college drop out

Nothing To Disclose Time for the first of three year end round ups and I'm starting with Product Porn! What's Product Porn? Well, with most of the posts I do I try to take interesting pictures the items used to create the corresponding nail look.

Let's get started with butter LONDON Pop Art Collection at #10

Cheeky Chops | Primrose Hill Picnic | Keks
See original post and nail art here.

What I really liked about this collection is that it was (and still is) the perfect combination of yellow, magenta, and cyan. Even better, it reminded me to buy ink for my printer.

In at #9, we have two pinks and a red from Sation.

Love At First Byte | Delete Your Junk Male | You're My Lacquer Charm

Back in March I mentioned that I'm generally not a fan of red and pink lacquers and I was determined to create nail art using just those three shades that I would actually like. I'd say it was pretty successful at creating some nifty nails and product porn.

For #8 there's the only non polish item on the list, swatch sticks.

See original post here.

I bought these guys to replace the nail wheels I swatched a sizable selection of the nail polish on--read: my babies to whom I spend the bulk of my free time thinking about and playing with.

Then there was the black nail art pen I bought from Urban Outfitters and Barielle Cosmic Kiss at #7

If you've been reading my blog for awhile, you've probably noticed I like to take pics of nail polish with the cap unscrewed and tipped like a fitted cap.

#6 is actually a photo that I only posted on Instagram, the Icing Summer 2012 Collection.

So Fierce | Power To The Pink | Funky Femme | Peachy Keen |What Planet Are You On

One day I was trying to organize my stash by collection and came across these guys and decided to take a picture since I still had my lightbox set up right outside my bedroom.

And we're finally cracking the top 5! Let's celebrate this mini milestone with a rainbow shall we.
China Glaze Happy Go Lucky | Sally Hansen X-treme Wear Sun Kissed | LCN Hot Chili | LCN Pink Pepper | China Glaze Grape Pop | Barielle Surf's Up | China Glaze Four Leaf Clover

Ah, yet another happenstance of me just going through my abundance of nail paint and the color scheme just sort of jump out at me.

#4 is Sally Hansen's Limited Edition Fall 2013 Collection and it's one of my favorite collections of 2013. And it doesn't hurt that I scored them all for $1.99 a piece.

In no particular order
Frazzle Dazzle | Glitter Gun | Green Rocket | Rosey Shooter | Sea-ly String | Strobe Flash | Spark In The Dark
See original post and swatches here.

After seeing these on Noveau Cheap, I pretty much hauled ass to Walgreen for these guys. Definitely not disappointed in scoring seven out ten of this collection.

The first time I ever used spiked lands at the #3 spot.

Gold spikes | Pure Ice Monte Carlo

I mean really, did you honestly think I was going to not include my favorite embellishment?

In at the #2 spot is Illamasqua Creator, Nomad, and Rare.

Creator | Rare | Nomad

These made it on the countdown for a few reasons.
1. They were my first Illamasquas
2. They were a Valentine's Day gift from Mr. Nail A College Drop Out
3. He went to Sephora all by himself to buy them for me. I know ladies, I've got a definite keeper on my hands.

So what's holding down THE NUMBER ONE SPOT? Dope Digits Twerk Team decals!

Do I really need an explanation as to why these are so damn awesome? No? Didn't think so.

I hope you've enjoyed this post and I'm so glad you've stuck around with me this long!

Quick side note:
Please do me a favor, if you're one of those people who says, "New year, new me!," can you make that your resolution to retire that played out phrase? Thanks in advance.

Much love in 2014!
Tune in. Drop out. Love polish.
