Here we are, the last day of July. Summer is almost over and some fall collections are already upon us. *sigh* Admittedly, fall is my least favorite season for nail polish. Why? Not because I hate all the dark, shimmer/jewel tones it has to offer, but because I love brights and neons all year round! Thankfully a brand finally released a fall collection that understands (and fulfills) my lacquer obsessed needs.




For this look I used four of the six shades from this collection. They are Silly Billy, Cake Hole, Giddy Kipper, and Cotton Buds.

Press Sample Yes, you read the title right. I have made the attempt at yet another water marble.

If you've been following me for the last two years, you'll notice water marbles and I aren't really besties. I don't try them to often, but without practice I'll never get better. Catch 22 much?

So with this post I try to bring out my inner My Simple LittlePleasures aka the Queen of Water Marbles!

I used four shades from La Couleur Couture for this look and they are 1963, 1964, 1968, and 1977.
I was pretty scared that my nails wouldn't come out great, only because I'm not very good with the particular technique in question, but I ventured on! What I found out is that these shades are absolutely great for water marbling. They spread so well and didn't dry immediately before I could make some sort of pattern in the center of the bullseye. I can't begin to tell you the numerous occasions I've encountered that by the way.

In the end I really loved the way this one turned out! Is it uniform? Nope, but that wasn't what I was going for.

Nothing To Disclose Yesterday I showed you the first three shades from the limited edition Salon Perfect Neon Collision Collection. So it's only right that today I do a little nail art with the last three shades (plus some added glitter)!

Now that I've accepted my "condition" let's talk lacquer! Starting last month every Walmart nationwide is supposed to carry the new limited edition Neon Collision Collection by Salon Perfect. I found myself heavily stalking the two Wally Worlds in my city, to no avail might I add.
Being the hardcore polish fiend you all know and love, I outsourced my hunt to a fellow lacquerista in another state. Alas! She found all six pretties in question!

But for now we'll start with three.

Every so often a few of my fellow lacquer obsessed friends (read possibly overly fanatic polish hoarders) decide to do a group mani. This time around the theme was, my favorite, NEON! Totes perfect because we all know how much I love neon nail polish. Without further explanation I'm moving onto the pics.


I started with a base color of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and for the gradient I used Dare To Wear Violetta, Dare To Wear Coral Carnation, and China Glaze Rose Among Thorns.

Have I mentioned just how many creative and inspiring images are on Instagram? Well the ideas for these nails came from a hashtag I stumbled upon, #quiltednails. So the next obvious step was for me to try them out for myself.

This mani was actually pretty simple to create. For the stripes I used Barielle Gotta Have Fate, Surf's Up, Smarty Pants, and Head of the Class. Next, I added a layer of quick dry top coat. After that, I laid down pieces of striping tape to create a relief pattern with matte top coat after the tape was removed.

Alrighty folks, time for some nail art! I don't have much of an anecdote of an intro so let's just jump right into it shall we?

Press Sample Recently butter LONDON released the limited edition Pop Art Collection. A self proclaimed set of  "punchy, kaleidoscopic brights." I figured why not try some 3D pop art-ish nail art, right? right!
Bam! 3D cubes! I've actually been wanting to try this design since I first saw Copy That Copy Cat (aka one of my first and few nail crushes) do it. See her original post here.

I changed the colors slightly and made the design bigger, but ultimately followed her YouTube tutorial for the execution.


I started with a base of butter LONDON Cotton Buds from their new A/W 2013 Color Clash Collection. Next, I used my go to black nail polish to paint the boxes. And finally, I used all three shades to fill in three complete cubes.


The limited edition Pop Art Collection consists of Cheeky Chops, Primrose Hill Picnic, and the new shade of the bunch, Keks.

Keks dries to somewhat of a wax like finish which I wasn't expecting, but really like.
Cheeky Chops. Boy, oh boy, was I surprised with just how good the formula on this guy is. Why? Well for starters it's a yellow creme, and for finishers (pretty sure I've never heard finishers anywhere so um, YOLO I guess? ) I had a very rough time with Jasper a few months back. 

What I like the most about this collection is that it is the perfect grouping of yellow, cyan, and magenta! Which reminds me; I need to buy some more ink for my printer.

Press Sample Ah yes, July 4th. A day off work, and a day of delicious barbeque. Did I mention a day off work? Anyway, I was pushing around a few red, white, and blue lacquers and decided to give the pinwheel nail art look a try.
